Book Boyfriend #2

Playing a dark angel Vampire, this sexy bad boy was the only reason I loved these books, when he stopped being a love interest for our main character, I did not continue the series, but I STILL LOVE JACK!

"I look at you everyday."

Found my favorite Angel series, FINALLY!

Guess what book I completely devoured in less than a few hours?

Title: Paradox- The Angels Are Here (Series Book #1)
Author:Patti Roberts

Goodreads Description:

Paradox Series: Spanning over centuries to the present day, this is a story about love, loss and betrayal. The horrifying discovery that nothing is as it seems. When there is nowhere left to run & letting go is your only choice. Nine hundred years ago, under the complete cover of darkness, the Grigorian army rose silently from their underground lair and attacked the Bulguardian Royal Palace. The bloody and violent battle between the two most legendary houses raged on. All but destroying the majestic Royal City of Altair. It was not the first war that Juliette had endured between good and evil. And it most certainly would not be her last. Today, A little girl's world is turned upside down by a visitor, the Angel of Death. She finds herself trapped in a nightmare, consumed by her paralyzing loss and overwhelming grief. The haunting visions and untimely deaths of others are a constant reminder that life and death are only a heartbeat away. She eventually befriends the unusual little girl who moves in next door with captivating violet eyes and a profound knowledge of things that far exceeds her tender years. A saga crossing over two worlds. Two souls being drawn precariously together over the centuries. When your destiny has been written in blood, and you are left with one burning question. Is your Guardian Angel from Heaven or Hell?
After reading dozens of Angel based books, I cannot recall a time when I said, hey- I like this. Well, surprisingly, I loved this. This book is up there on my list of favorites. First of all, the writing was excellent, I was literally flabbergasted and felt inferior in anything I've ever written. There's no slow parts, just a mind-blowing of information you devour with willingness. I don't know too much about Angel history, but it sounds like research was done and I'm going to take Roberts word for anything she tells me about Angels from here on out, truth or not. This is how much I became sucked into this world. And with all my disappointment, it ended. Just like that, I was like no way. That cannot be it, and it isn't because then I remembered she has a sequel coming out! Grace, is a character I can very much relate too, and even as a little girl, it's obvious she will grow to be a wonderful adult. Cannot wait to see what's in store for the lovely Grace. =]

Rating- Yes, I must say it, 5/5
Favorite quotes- Too many to put all down, trust me.
-Minor Sexual Content
More LOVE: -Buying this in paperback, adding to my collection.

Review: Sarah of the Moon by Randy Mixter

 Title: Sarah Of The Moon

Author: Randy Mixter

Website Description-
The Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco in 1967. Alex Conley, a part-time writer for a Baltimore newspaper, is dispatched to chronicle the events occurring there. It is June of 1967, and the summer of love is in full swing. Alone, in this strange and magical place, he meets a girl named Sarah, a free spirit who is as mysterious as she is beautiful. What are the secrets of her past? Why does she dance each night under the light of the moon? These are just a few of the puzzles Alex needs to solve in the short time he has in that city. Then there’s another complication. He is beginning to fall deeply in love with her.

Main Character: Alex, eighteen year old male. Working part-time to be able to eventually head off to college. Lived during an era where most young men we're drafted for the Vietnam war.

Favorite quotes-

"Shoes are the burden of the working man. The freeness of bare feet in the grass cannot be overestimated"

"Let the day flow into the night on it's own accord. That is the natural way of things. Step out of the world out of time and into the world of magic."

-At first glance, I honestly thought this was going to be one of those sappy romance novels.AND I was wrong, it is FAR MORE than that. It's most likely because the description and the cover doesn't give the book the justice it truly deserves.(Some Hipster Chick, would be cool)

After the first two chapters, I was sucked in and couldn't put it down. Alex, the eighteen year old part-timer for a paper interested me. Why? Well, the era. Hippies are something I never read about before, and other than listening to the Beatles on occasion and watching their Hollywood true stories, I didn't know anything about that time period. And neither did Alex, a kid from a strict military family...until...(Readit) It made me think about where I would be at eighteen during the 1960's and if I'd be a bare foot walking flower child? My heart cried out for the main character, all I wanted was for him to have his happy ending. And that's saying something that I instantly fell in love with him. In the end I found myself wishing that there we're still more hippies, that there we're still people like that everywhere. Quite possibly I'm sure there could be, but that era in itself is gone. Which makes me incredibly sad, because their culture is one I could perfectly understand. Especially during these times.

Review: Starfire Angels by Melanie Nilles

Title: Starfire Angels: (Dark Angel Chronicles #1)

Author:Melanie Nilles

Bookreads Description:

They've been coming here for thousands of years, using Earth as a sanctuary to escape threats from their own kind. Mankind knows them as angels, and one of them left a child upon her death to be raised as a human.

Raea is now a high school senior, and her life as a human is about to end. The crystal shard she bears is not a pretty pendant; it's a collective of powerful entities who chose her as their Keeper, a protector of one of the four shards that power a machine capable of destroying whole worlds. Those who desire the Starfire's power have sent an agent to find her, but she's too busy evading a nosy reporter ready to exploit her secret and dating a hot new foreign student to notice. Nevermind learning what she really is.

Only one person on Earth can help her, the last person she ever expected. But he's not from Earth. Life as a human would be so much easier.

Okay, So basically, this is one of those books where you just know exactly what is going to happen next. THAT I find incredibly annoying. A twist would be nice? Despite the characters especially Raea being naive, childish, and wanting to slap her in the head every few paragraphs, for the price(FREE KINDLE EDITION) this is a good read to entertain yourself for a bit. Sci-fi and aliens have never been something I was very much interested in, but the idea isn't too awful. Honestly, I had expected more. But, I wasn't too bored with it so I do suggest downloading it onto your kindle.

Will I read the sequels?

Maybe if I am truly bored.

Warning: Raea is one of those almost hateful characters that cares about what others think and is too blind to see the obvious.

Rating: I want to say 2 1/2 but Ill say 3/5.

Sophie Gonzales: Blog Interview

This is a new thing I'm starting on my blog, where I interview the owner of my favorite blogs, THE FIRST INTERVIEW IS with Sophie from lifebetweenpages. Check her out, she's pretty awesome as is her blog!

Name: Sophie
Location: Oxfordshire, UK

A bit about yourself:
-Favorite Foods: Chocolate addict!
-Music: I like most genres, but am particularly a fan of Bon Jovi.
-Animals? Pets?: I've got a guinea pig called Arthur and a parakeet/budgerigar called Penny!
-Store: For books it's either Waterstones if they're new, or charity shops such as the Oxfam if I'm looking for second hand. Also have a great independent book seller down the road.
-Shopping?: Couldn't live without it! Love getting clothes from H&M and Primark. Also like Debenhams department store.
-Hobbies: I can't think of anything apart from reading...! ;D

When did you start book blogging?: Only about a month ago. It feels like it's been much longer than that!

How many books do you read a week?: One or two, depending on the length of the book(s). I'm a slow reader.

What are your favorite authors?: They're not particular favourites, but I've enjoyed novels by Jane Austen and Sophie Kinsella.

Do you like any specific type of story lines?: Anything that isn't gory or nasty, really.

If you could marry a character from a book, which would it be and why?: I'd probably wish to be Elizabeth in Pride and Prejudice so I could marry Mr Darcy. I'm a bit a romantic, so having a husband like him would be perfect! LOL.

Where can other bloggers find you?:

What book do you currently suggest? I'm reading The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien right now and it's the best book I've read in ages. If you haven't read it, you're missing out... I don't know why it took me so long to pick it up!

Bookworm Trouble

Some of my Books <3

Over the years I must admit I have steered clear of libraries-No-I haven't not been in one before.
But, I have rarely borrowed a book. Not only do I enjoy reading, I love the look, smell, and feel of a book in my hand,The feeling of accomplishment towards the turn of each page as I near the end- the title in my collection. Thus, my obsession has led me to a minor dilemma. That of which involves space.

It's moving time for me, finally venturing out on my own with my beloved. Leaving my large home with all the space necessary to hold my many belongings, because I must admit I had been very spoiled as a child. AND I don't know where in the world I am going to put ALL of my books in our one bedroom apartment and or two, depending on base housing availabilty. You may be thinking she cannot possibly own that many books. You're wrong. AND I have also failed to mention my wardrobe. NOT including shoes, purses, and accesories.

I'm thinking of taking over my husband's closet and telling him to keep his clothes in some type of wardrobe so I can fit my collection and continue adding to it.

Because well, I love books. More than his need of space.

What shall I do?

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

CURRENTLY READING: I Think All Men are Gay! Author: Jewc Burger

As you know I read Indie reads, this book was independently published on June 13,2011 under the alias: Jewc Burger. This is my teaser:

"Admiring him had become a daily task of mine, I even secretly began to stalk his, at the time Myspace page. Because what normal teenage girl doesn’t go into complete stalker mode once she develops a crush? That ex-girlfriend of his was really something. Long perfect dark hair, Long legs, Huge lips, Blue- eyes, the works. Being 5’2 with a normal looking body and untameable hair, it was obvious I had no chance whatsoever.

And as the weeks went by it became even more apparent. Chase went through the girl’s in my high school as if they we’re on sale and discarded them like old dolls. You would think after he broke the first couple of girl’s hearts the other’s would learn to steer clear."

You can buy a copy here:I Think All Men are Gay!

Book Boyfriend #1

This idea seems to be going around the book blogging world, and why not? Who doesn't want to imagine having one of those dreamy and perfect guys as their boyfriends in the REAL world. Stole this idea from a lovely blog called Take my away... (Check her out.) I will be posting my book boyfriend weekly. And my  boyfriend this week is HENRY SCHOONMAKER, from the wonderful Luxe series by Anna Godberson.
All you SUPERNATURAL FANS OUT THERE, I am a total Dean's girl and although he is super bad boy and not very aristocratic or polite like Henry, he is who I imagine. I mean just picture Dean Winchester all cleaned up with manners and stuff, how HOT would that be? Jensen Ackles is BEAUTIFUL and my PERFECT Henry Schoonmaker!

"Henry shook his head, 'I was drunk,' he said, trying to sound both ashamed and firm in this belief. He remembered the rosebush incident very clearly, of course, but he knew that sneaking into the bedroom window of his fiancĂ©e's little sister wasn't something he wanted to explain to his father. Sometimes, Henry reflected, being taken for a perpetual drunk was sort of convenient."

"To my true bride."
-Henry Schoonmaker

SPEAKING OF SUPERNATURAL: This is a FANFIC PROMO VID for a story I wrote with Lauren Bustamante. You can find her blog here!

-Thanks to a follower named Braine, whom you should follow as well (Talk Supe), I have decided to post excerpts on Nirvana. This is to be my first published book. And I am very excited for it. I am not doing it to sell copies or become famous. I write because I absolutely love it. Nirvana is one of my favorite stories that I've ever written and I want to share it with others.  To view more on Nirvana click here! Or just go up above on my pages. (It's the same link.)

Excerpts will be posted randomly and will NOT be lengthy(Sorry) , any questions don't be afraid to comment or e-mail!

Also I made this:

Interesting People

Hello fellow bloggers! Do you have any people in your life that literally make you shake your head everyday in either worry or humor? Well, I do. To the left is Christopher A.K.A "Tuna" or "Chooch" As his girlfriend, I mean friend likes to call him (I was kidding) and beside him is Allicia ( My Best friend). This post though is about Christopher. He is strange, funny, sarcastic, witty, overly opinionated and has the temper of a five year old. He is someone you can converse with pointlessly for hours on end and enjoy it. Actually, I believe Chris will one day be famous. Have his own talk show or radio show, host something on MTV. Anyways, Chris should write a book. On what I don't know? He says blogging is "gay" but he does have a Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr. So he kind of blogs like...everyday. If you would like to know more about Chris or become his friend to hear his raging thoughts leave a comment. Don't be afraid to share an interesting person in YOUR life. Have a good night all!

Home SWEET Home!

Many apologies for not updating sooner, I have been in Chicago visiting my husband on base. It was a good time, but I am not a fan of Chicago. A lot of homeless people that beg too much and don't know how to steer clear. I've lived in NY a long time and the homeless here do not bother you or try to hustle you. If it happens, it has never happened to me! Anyhow I flew in Monday, July 4. And this saddens me because I did not land in LGA until about ten p.m. Thus missing the (Amazing) city fireworks show. This picture I found on Google, isn't it lovely?

Review: Pretty When She Dies!

Title- Pretty When She Dies!
Author: Rhiannon Frater
Rating: 2/5

Description: A college girl with a bad history get's tricked into going out with her professor who turns out to be a Vampire psychopath. She wakes up in a grave and goes into killing mode at a giant orgy then has sex with said professor. Then she figures out what she is and has to survive on her own. BLAH < BLAH< BLAH.
Comments: I HATED THIS BOOK. Couldn't even finish the description for you. Frater is a good writer, not putting that past her. But, this story was awful. I HATED THE CHARACTERS. Did not like the smuttiness of them all and the white trash background. Made me feel uncomfortable and in a very bad mood.
